Park Closed Around 11 AM After Water Main Broke
Dollywood was forced to close around 11 AM on July 18 after a water main break in the theme park forced the City of Pigeon Forge to shut off water to the area. The park had only been open for about an hour before it was forced to close.
The park's official Twitter account announced the closure, saying "PARK UPDATE: Dollywood is currently closed due to an unforeseen circumstance. We anticipate reopening later today, but please check back here for updates. We apologize for any inconvenience." The account later tweeted that the park would remain closed for the rest of the day and that guests with tickets for July 18 would be able to use them on another day.
The water main break also caused problems for other businesses in the area, including hotels and restaurants. The City of Pigeon Forge is working to repair the water main and restore water service to the area as soon as possible.
